Just last Friday, on my lunch break at work, I decided to make a stop into a nearby Target to investigate if they had gotten Just Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip in stock yet. Sadly, they hadn’t. Not so sadly though, after hearing no from a young Target employee exasperatedly telling me that she had just had someone ask her that same question, which was then followed by an eye roll, I found my way over to the ice cream freezer.
Not even thinking that there was any chance that my Target had them in stock already, I inattentively scanned the Ben & Jerry’s selection. Then, I found it. (And with only 2 pints in the entire packed freezer!)
After that, I was on the hunt.
After spending a few minutes digging around inside the freezer, I came to the conclusion that this was the only flavor that they had in yet. Plus I didn’t want to have a repeat of my previous experience with that eye-rolling employee.
Once home with the goods, I cracked open the lid and slid my spoon into the rich looking, dairy free ice cream.
Upon first taste, I thought the banana ice cream flavor was extremely potent, but that the pint was pretty scarce on fudge chunks and walnut pieces. I also felt that the end of the taste was kind of weird, a little artificial. As I kept digging in more though I became more and more content with the taste but I would definitely not call this my favorite vegan ice cream. (That #1 spot is still safe with Sweet Annabelle’s!)

One last thing. Even though this flavor wasn’t a huge hit with me, I still cannot wait to try the other three non-dairy Ben & Jerry’s flavors that I have yet to find. I have heard nothing but great things about the Coffee Caramel Fudge flavor and personally growing up the Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ben & Jerry’s flavor was my absolute favorite, so I really cannot wait to try out that one.
