If you’re a vegan living in, or visiting, the Long Island area, these are the absolute best, must-visit, vegan-friendly restaurants (in our opinion) on L.I.! Enjoy!
The older location of the two, 3 Brothers Pizza Cafe in Farmingdale, NY has been a dedicated, and reliable, in serving the vegan, vegetarian and general pizza lovers of the surrounding area . From the creative and delicious mind of Jay Astafa, who got his family to start serving vegan food at their home-style Italian restaurant and pizzeria, and expanded it to being one of the most well-known vegan places to eat on Long island. Long Island’s only all vegan restaurant, and the creation of vegan culinary genius Jay Astafa, 3 Brothers Vegan Cafe is a haven for Long Island vegans who for once don’t have to worry about anything on the menu not being vegan. Plus they serve Vegan Treats desserts! The cakes are to die for!! Really the only negative thing I have to mention is, the parking sucks.
This harbor facing, Bob Marley lovin’, vegan paradise is a gem nestled within the Northport, Long Island community. With definite inspirations and influences from Costa Rican and Central American/Latin Food, plus a continually rotating menu, you’ll never run out of new, amazingly innovative vegan dishes to try. They also have locally brewed Kombucha on tap for you Kombucha enthusiasts! Read our full review HERE!
Tiger Lily Cafe
This alternative, artsy cafe, a vegan/vegetarian staple now in the touristy Village of Port Jefferson for over 10 years, is a must-visit on the Island. It’s especially nice when you visit during the warmer seasons! That’s when the back patio is open and you can get in a lot of people watching while you eat your wrap, salad, burger or other healthy offering at Tiger Lily Cafe. Read our full review HERE!
The Witches Brew
Now this is a restaurant with character. From it’s mismatched chairs and tables, to it’s macabre atmosphere with Victorian style drapery and black walls, this extraordinary eatery offers nothing but the most delicious food for vegans and non-vegans alike. Best of all, they can make almost everything and anything on the menu vegan – WOO HOO! Also, their Vegan Caesar Salad is my favorite of all time. Read our full review HERE!
