Located right off of Fort Salonga Road, and adjacent to the Northport Harbor, is an eccentric, Latin-inspired restaurant called, The Purple Elephant. And yes, in case you were wondering, there indeed is a statue of a purple elephant situated right outside of the entrance to the restaurant.
With walls accented in musical records, Bob Marley paraphernalia and surfing themed items, The Purple Elephant provides your eyes with plenty of interesting things to look at while you wait for your food to be served.
Whether you’re a vegan, vegetarian, or bonafide meat lover, there is literally something for every palate at The Purple Elephant, and best of all, they mark and label all of their menu offerings so you never have to worry about accidentally ordering something non-vegan/non-vegetarian. They also offer two different menus, one for lunch and one for dinner, and while there is some overlap with the dishes served during the different meal times, you will definitely want to hit up this restaurant (at least!) twice so that you can experience all of their different mouthwatering menu choices.
- Yucca Fries Appetizer
- Buffalo Cauliflower Salad
- Spicy Mac Attack
- The Proper Whopper
They also have beer, wine, mixed drink and Kombucha offerings available.
I will admit though, that there is just one thing that sits in the con column about The Purple Elephant. The prices are steeper than those of many of the places that I frequent for a bite to eat, but the quality and creativity of the different foods, their wonderful presentation and overall vibe of the restaurant, are completely worth the price tag in my book.
Plus, they have Takeout Tuesdays where from 4PM – close on Tuesdays, as long as you’re paying CASH, you get 20% off off your order! (not including desserts & Kombucha)
