I am SO glad I decided to drive out West on Long Island yesterday to West Hempstead to visit The Witches Brew. This cafe/coffee shop doesn’t have an official website with their menu on it, so you’ll just have to take my word for it when I say you NEED to come here. Plus, how often does a vegan get to visit a restaurant where it literally states on the bottom of each page of their menu that, “Most dishes can be made vegan upon request.” Never!

A glimpse of the Witches Brew’s Menu, along with the best words ever written.

Stop in, check out the awesome mismatched furniture, eclectic decor, and of course, try out their delicious food. (Don’t forget dessert!)

I ordered the Caesar Salad and the BBQ Tempeh Sandwich, both of which were fantastic!

Caesar Salad Overall: The salad was a good sized portion, the Caesar dressing was creamy and flavorful, the lettuce was crisp and the cherry tomatoes tasted fresh. I only wish they’d have sprinkled on some sort of vegan friendly Parmesan cheese substitute, but even without, total thumbs up.

BBQ Tempeh Sandwich Overall: I will certainly be ordering this dish again in the future. The sandwich was the perfect size, served on ciabatta bread (one of my favorites!) with BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, which gave the whole sandwich sweet undertones, and they melted on a piece of vegan cheddar cheese. So much yum!
